FAQ - Eyebrows

If you’ve been thinking about getting semi-permanent eyebrows but still have a few questions, you’re not alone! Many of my clients feel a mix of excitement and nerves before their first appointment, and that’s completely normal. I’m here to guide you through the process and clear up any doubts. Let’s dive into some of the most common FAQs about semi-permanent eyebrows.

  1. What exactly are semi permanent eyebrows? Semi-permanent eyebrows are a form of cosmetic tattooing designed to enhance and define your natural brows. Unlike traditional tattoos, the pigments used are specially formulated for a softer, more natural fade over time. The two most popular techniques I offer are nano brows and powder brows. While nano brows mimic individual hair strokes for a natural look, powder brows create a soft, filled-in effect—perfect for those who want a more defined finish.

  2. Will my brows look crazy bold and fake? This is probably the biggest worry my clients have before their appointment! My passion is creating natural-looking results that enhance your unique beauty without being over the top. During your consultation, I’ll work with you to design the perfect shape and style based on your facial features, skin tone, and preferences. I'm known for creating ultra realistic and subtle results that compliment your beauty without looking ''done''.

3. Does it hurt? One of the top concerns I hear is about pain. The truth is, everyone’s pain threshold is different, but in general, the procedure is very tolerable. Over the years I've heard a lot of clients having had spmu done before (elsewhere) and finding it quite sore. This is due to improper practices by the artist as spmu should NOT be painful. What you should feel is a scratching sensation, that can be a bit uncomfortable at times but for the most part is completely fine.

4. How long do results last? This is another common question, and the answer depends on your skin type and lifestyle. On average, semi-permanent brows last 18-24 months, with yearly colour boosts recommended to keep them looking fresh. If you have oilier skin, the pigments may fade slightly faster, while drier skin types might retain the colour for longer.

Factors like sun exposure, skincare products, and even your metabolism can influence how quickly the pigment fades.

5. What's the healing process like? After your semi-permanent eyebrow treatment, your brows will go through a healing process. They may appear slightly darker than expected at first, but don’t panic! This is normal and part of the healing process. Over the next 7-10 days, the color will soften and lighten as your skin heals. You might experience some mild scabbing or flaking during this time, but it’s essential to avoid picking at your brows to ensure the best results. To support healing, I’ll provide you with aftercare instructions that include gentle cleansing, avoiding excessive moisture, and steering clear of sunbeds or heavy sweating.

6. Is it safe? Safety is my absolute priority. I adhere to strict hygiene protocols and use only high-quality, approved pigments and tools. Before the treatment, I conduct a thorough consultation to ensure you're a good candidate for the procedure. Rest assured, I’m trained in the latest techniques and continue to educate myself on the most up-to-date safety standards in the industry. I have regular training, at least once a year in the lastest spmu techniques as well.
